Palliative Care

If you have been diagnosed with a serious or life-limiting illness, at NYU Langone we can work with you to develop a treatment plan that addresses your medical condition, as well as the symptoms and side effects of treatment.

Our palliative care program is focused on improving quality of life for people dealing with serious illnesses. We can give you the information you need to understand your treatment options and the goals of medical care, and to make informed medical decisions.

Palliative care may be beneficial at any stage of a serious illness or chronic, debilitating condition. It is appropriate for people who are receiving curative treatment for their condition or dealing with the side effects of treatment.

Your palliative care team works with you to develop a comprehensive treatment plan to relieve symptoms such as pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, constipation, nausea, loss of appetite, and difficulty sleeping.
