Reproductive Psychiatry Program
The Reproductive Psychiatry Program at NYU Langone, led by Dr. Lucy Hutner, focuses on the mental health needs of women at every stage of childbearing, from preconception through pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting. We provide evaluation and treatment for psychiatric conditions in pregnant and postpartum patients, as well as emotional support for issues such as coping with the stresses of infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss.
Our services include:
- diagnostic assessment of mental health conditions
- preconception planning
- medication consultation and management
- long- and short-term psychotherapy
- family education and support
We also collaborate with NYU Langone’s Child Study Center to offer education for new parents of infants, such as our annual “Transition to Parenting 101” workshop. The focus of our clinical care, education, and research is the health and wellbeing of women and their partners as they become parents.
