Pediatric Patients Need More Than Medical Care

Hospital visits can be especially tough for young patients and those who love them. Research tells us that children are much more likely to regain their health and happiness when specialists address both the physical symptoms and the emotional distress they and their families experience because of illness. Our goal is to deliver exceptional pediatric medicine to every child and family we care for in a supportive, family-centered environment.

Because of You, We’re Making It Happen

Backed by the institution’s 150-year history of specialized care for children, NYU Langone and its Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital’s leadership, faculty, and staff are committed to providing the best pediatric services in every dimension.

Our Sala Institute for Child and Family Centered Care allows us to include each parent, sibling, and patient as an integral member of the medical team, pairing expert treatments with robust psychosocial services. We help patients to understand what is happening to them as they receive care, and we champion the role of the family in creating wellbeing for the child along the way.

As part of our dramatic campus expansion, we are also building a brand new home for Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone—the most ambitious and promising project for children in New York City. Once completed in 2017, this world-class, dedicated facility will cement NYU Langone’s position as a top destination for comprehensive pediatric care in the United States.

Your generosity will ensure we continue to offer the very best in care, research, and education—to each and every child and family at NYU Langone.

"We listen to parents and children in coming up with a care plan. Our doctors, nurses, and social workers collaborate as a constant group that knows the family's child. All of these professionals become familiar faces and offer many roads to comfort."
