Research My Research

Research Summary
Dr. Brys completed residency training in neurology as well as clinical fellowship in Movement Disorders at NYU. He graduated from Jagiellonian University School of Medicine in Krakow, Poland and received a Ph.D. in neurological sciences from the same institution. His Ph.D. dissertation addressed modulation of cerebral blood flow autoregulation at rest and during physical exercise using transcranial Doppler ultrasound technology. He is a recipient of prestigious grant from The Kosciuszko Foundation. Before his residency, he worked as a postdoctoral scientist in the neuroimaging laboratory of Dr. Mony de Leon. Dr. Brys's research interests focus on the identification of early biomarkers of neurodegenerative diseases using advanced MRI and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) techniques and analysis of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Additionally, he has been engaged in research applications of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) as a treatment modality altering brain plasticity in Parkinson's disease.
