About Me

I practice general adult cardiac surgery, offering treatment for people with valve disease, coronary artery disease, and advanced heart failure. I chose to specialize in this field because it’s both challenging and creative—I enjoy the art of it as much as I enjoy the science.

I am fortunate to work at a medical center that offers a full spectrum of services to people with heart conditions. I work closely with a team of specialists that views a condition through multiple lenses before choosing—along with the patient—the best, most individualized solution.

Left ventricular assist device implantation is my specialty. This device is an advanced treatment for people with heart failure, involving implantation of a pump that works as a substitute for the left ventricle of the heart, which may be weakened by heart disease.

As surgical director of NYU Langone’s Ventricular Assist Device Program, I collaborate with a team of highly experienced professionals to help people who have weak hearts to recover and rediscover the ease of doing basic activities without difficulty.

When I perform a cardiac procedure, it may be an ordinary day for me. But I recognize that it may be the most important day of my patient’s life. At NYU Langone, we are dedicated to offering everything we can to make sure that very important day goes well.
